Things to Do...

Here's something that you can practice with your kindergarden student. The students can visit the local library to check out fiction and nonfiction books. Enjoy reading delightful stories with interesting characters and story lines. Learn new information about a variety of animals and others in our world. If the opportunity arises, go on mini field trips or nature walks, there is so much to discover around us. Also remember to practice your math skills: counting to 100, addition/ subtraction and writing your numbers. Some tips include using complete sentences, speaking verbally to their teachers, recognizing numbers and letters, and learning compound words.

Teacher bios

	Ms. Gotshall has been teaching for ten years and all have been spent at D.S.A. She is originally from Anderson, Indiana. She went to college at Indiana University and Anderson University. She realized she wanted to be a teacher halfway through college when she switched her major. She wanted to be a teacher because being around kids makes her happy and she says that a happy teacher makes a happy class!
	Mrs. Kaiser has been teaching at D.S.A. for fourteen years and has been teaching for a total of thirty three years. She is originally from De Smet, South Dakota. She went to the University of Heidelberg in Germany then, got her masters degree in Minnesota. She also taught special education in Gaylord, Minnesota. She realized she wanted to be a teacher when she was twelve years old when she visited a school for special needs students and was so impressed with all these students could accomplish. She wanted to be a teacher and have a class of students like that.
	Mrs. Leonard has been teaching for four years and they all have been spent at D.S.A. She is originally from Davenport, Florida and went to Warner University. She wanted to become a teacher because she loves kids, she loved to learn when she went to school, and she wants to help kids learn.
	Mrs. Katz has been teaching for fourteen years and all have been spent at D.S.A. She is originally from New Jersey and graduated from Purdue University. During summers she works with students and educators through Inspiring Educational SySTEMS. She has presented at the Space Exploration Educator's Conference in Houston, Texas and the National I Teach K! Conference in Las Vegas, NV.
	Glenda Ramirez
