Meet some of our music teachers!
Mr. Pranno is this year's orchestra and strings teacher! He was born in Chicago, Illinois and studied at Iowa and Arizona. He decided to start teaching because his parents were music teachers. His father even became a principal! He worked at a university for 23 years and began working here because of the school's wonderful commitment to the arts, and its fantastic faculty and students!

Ms.Smokay is our piano teacher! She grew up in Orlando, Florida and has an Associate Degree of Arts from Polk State College, a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Music Eduction from Southeastern University, and she studied Music Technology at New York University. She has been teaching a total of 5 years and all have been spent at D.S.A. Recently, her class hosted their first "Master Class" for piano with guest artist Edward Rotmel! Six students represented our school at All County Piano. Ms.Smokay wants her students to, "Practice, practice, practice! Read music everyday, practice scales, techniques, and work on pieces."

| This is Mr.Guira's 13th year, as a music teacher at DSA! He was born in Vero Beach, Florida and has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and Performance. His students are preparing for All State and All County. In the meantime, he encourages his students students to "Practice at home and read new music everyday." | |||

Congrats to Mr.Wright for his 2nd year at DSA! Mr.Wright was born in Cleveland, Ohio and has a Bachelor's of Music in Education at Baldwin Wallace College Conservatory of Music. His classes are currently preparing for upcoming performances. "We are striving to achieve vocal excellence!" he said. He encourages his students to "constantly practice their skills to increase the value of class time and group work!" |
