Ms.Yoby Alexander
Ms.Yoby Alexander is our P.T.O. President here at D.S.A. She is originally from Talladega, Alabama and later moved to Orlando in 1991. Ms. Yoby also worked at Marriott World Center until she had her children. In 2004 she started volunteering in Ms. Kaisers Kindergarten class. In 2006 Ms.Yobi was volunteering at the book fair and the P.T.O. President at the time (Tina Emrick) was leaving that year and asked Ms.Yoby if she would be interested in running for P.T.O President. Nervously Ms.Yoby said yes. 2007 was her first year as P.T.O President (she was petrified because she didn’t have a clue what she was doing.) But what made her first year as P.T.O President so successful were the parent volunteers that helped her develop new ideas and execute them.
Unfortunately this is Ms.Yoby's last year as the D.S.A. PTO President. The best thing she says about being PTO President are the looks on the students faces when they come to the Book Fair, how excited students get when they come to the Rock-A-Walk, and also when she gets paid for what she does with hugs and smiles. But the hardest thing to do she says is budgeting the funds raised and having to say “no” on rare occasions. When asked she said that her favorite event that happens here at D.S.A. is the Arts Fair and the Book Fair. After this year Ms.Yoby plans to help at the High School where her kids go and focus on being a good wife and mom.
