Meet our P.E. Coaches!
Coach Searls is celebrating her 24th year of P.E as this years' Teacher of the Year! She is originally from Lakewood,Ohio a suburb west of Cleveland. Coach Searls decided she wanted to become a P.E teacher in the 3rd - 4th grade when she had great P.E teachers herself. She later went to college at Ashmund University. Outside of P.E coaching, Coach Searls is an avid cyclist.
Coach Galan is our new P.E Coach here at DSA. He is originally from Lakeland, FL. Coach Galan always knew he wanted to teach, but he decided to become a P.E Coach after High School. Coach went to college at the University of Eastern Illinois on a football scholarship. Other than P.E coaching, Coach Galan likes to work out and coach football.
What is P.E. working on!
Before the Thanksgiving break P.E., was working on developing fitness. Elementary students were playing fitness games such as "Tag" and "Give me Twenty". In Middle School, students were working on Flag Football. Elementary students will now be working on cooperative games, and basketball skills. Also in Middle School they will be playing a game called Korf Ball.
